HSCC Superprix nominated for R.A.C. Historic Award

Tuesday, January 26 2021

The Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix, run by the Historic Sports Car Club at the world-famous Kent circuit, has been nominated in the Competitive Event category for this Thursday's Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards.

The 2020 Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix, which ran on the second weekend of competitive motorsport following motor racing's return last July, was a celebration of the sport's golden past on the full Grand Prix circuit.

Despite the challenges of the time, the HSCC attracted a strong entry for what turned out to be Brands Hatch's first car racing event of the year, with big grids of single-seaters, touring cars, and GTs from the '50s through to the '80s.

The Superprix will go up against the Wales and Shropshire based HERO-ERA Novice Trial and the Thruxton Historic in Thursday's online ceremony, presented by Lee McKenzie.

You can click here to tune in and watch the awards ceremony from 18:30 on Thursday 28 January.

The Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix returns to Brands Hatch on 10-11 July 2021, with another two-day festival of nostalgia with on-track action from the HSCC.

Special highlights will include the Aurora and Geoff Lees Trophy races for powerful single-seaters, and Thundersports prototypes which recreate the European endurance racing scene of the '70s and '80s. Crowd pleasing favourites will include the Historic Touring Cars and Historic Formula Ford races.
