BTCC FP2:Shedden leads final practice of 2021 at Brands Hatch

Saturday, October 23 2021

Gordon Shedden led the way in the final Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Free Practice session of 2021 this afternoon, after lapping the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in 1m30.800s.

The Scottish three-time champion edged the session by just 0.021s on an exceptionally close leaderbord which saw the top-10 drivers separated by less than three tenths of a second. Chris Smiley's Hyundai was second quickest, whilst Aiden Moffat was third in the first of the Infiniti Q50s.

Senna Proctor continued his strong day by setting the fourth fastest time, following seventh earlier on in the day. Daniel Lloyd, who has been a frequent podium contender in recent rounds rounded out the top-five in his Vauxhall Astra, one place ahead of teammate Jason Plato.

Multiple BTCC race-winner Tom Chilton rose up the order to seventh, as he continues to chase his first silverware of 2021, whilst Daniel Rowbottom ran eighth after topping the morning session.

Championship leader Ashley Sutton was ninth fastest from local racer Jake Hill ahead of the final qualifying session of the year at 15:00.
