Priceless exotic cars to star at Brands Hatch this May

Wednesday, April 20 2016

Brands Hatch will host the year's most exciting supercar event in the UK, the Blancpain GT Series featuring the Ultracar Sports Club, on 7/8 May, with races, demonstrations and displays featuring everything from iconic Ferraris and Lamborghinis to rare and expensive exotica such as the Bugatti Veyron and McLaren P1.

Priceless machinery will be demonstrating their full potential at high speed in the Blancpain Ultracar Sports Club, which will be one of the biggest highlights of the event. Usually found cruising the streets of Monaco, visitors will now be able to hear the incredible sound that these stunning cars generate when put through their considerable paces on a race track. The weekend's four demonstrations will be a supercar fan's delight and expected to appear alongside the Veyron and P1 will be the Aston Martin One-77, LaFerrari, Lamborghini Veneno Coupe, Pagani Zonda R and many more.

The occasion will also include a big international sportscar race, with the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup bringing more than 30 race-ready supercars to Kent, a huge increase on last year's grid. The championship's two one-hour races features factory-supported entries that include the Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT, BMW M6, Lamborghini Huracan, McLaren 650 S and Nissan GT-R. These will be driven by the world's best GT drivers, a list that includes former Grand Prix drivers Markus Winkelhock and Bernd Schneider, and world-class British talents Alexander Sims, Craig Dolby and Alex Buncombe.

Supercars will also star in the Blancpain GT Sports Club and British-based GT Cup Championship classes, and there's thrilling Touring Car-style action in store from the MINI Challenge. The racing will take place on the full Grand Prix circuit, where the supercars will be able to unleash their prodigious speed, with a glorious soundtrack to match!

Visitors can see many of the supercars close-up in the paddock, including the rare Ultracars, and there will also be a huge supercar display along Colin Chapman Way, which runs parallel to the main straight. Organised by the Supercar Siege, which raises money for the Royal Navy & Royal Marine Children's Fund, this will include favourites from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, plus many classics and rarities such as the legendary Ferrari F40, ultra-rare Jaguar XJR-15 and wild Koenigsegg Agera N.

Also joining the Supercar Siege display will be the Sporting Bears, and they will be offering coveted passenger rides in their cars in exchange for a donation to children's charities. The club's classic and sports car drivers have collectively raised over £1 Million for charity.

Visitors to the Blancpain GT Series event can also enjoy a funfair, go-karting and a free children's playground.

Tickets for the Blancpain GT Series, featuring the Blancpain Ultracar Sports Club, are on sale from £21 with free entry for under-13s. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
