British GT Championship kicks off on the Brands Hatch GP circuit today!

Saturday, April 16 2016

The 2016 British GT Championship kicks off on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit with qualifying today (Saturday), whilst the revived BRDC British Formula 3 Championship will take to the track for the first of its three races across the weekend.

British GT is home to some of the most spectacular cars currently racing on UK soil, and this weekend's line-up includes a stunning selection of supercars from manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, and Maserati. With flame-spitting exhausts, and outrageous downforce-producing spoilers, these cars are always spectacular to watch, but especially so in low fuel qualifying trim!

The GTs will be out on track for first practice from 09:30, with four back-to-back qualifying sessions following later in the day from 16:45.

BRDC British F3, on the other hand, is the nation's top single-seater series for the next generation of prospective Grand Prix hopefuls. The first of three races across the weekend will take place at 15:30, following a qualifying session in the morning.

Today's programme also includes qualifying and race action from the Aston Martin GT Challenge, Caterham Superlight R300, and the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge. Plus, there will be qualifying sessions for tomorrow's Mini races.
