Alex Zanardi will look to follow up his magnificent gold medal performance in Wednesday's Men's Individual Time Trial by securing gold this afternoon in the H4 road race.
The Italian former racing driver will compete at 16.30 and will look to follow Sarah Storey's example from yesterday by adding the Road Race to his Time Trial crown in a 64km race expected to last for at least an hour.
Speaking in the official programme for the event, Zanardi said: "These past two years have been absolutely fantastic. This will go down in my book as one of my best periods. If I collect another medal today I will have a second tangible sign of that. It would be something to be very proud of."
From a British interest, handcyclists Karen Darke and Rachel Morris will compete this morning at 10.30 in the Women's Individual H1-3 Road Race. Darke will be looking to follow up on her silver medal from Wednesday's Time Trial, while Morris claimed sixth in this race in Beijing 2008.
