One month to go until Truck racers return to action at Brands

Thursday, March 01 2018

There's just one month to go until the first major event on the Brands Hatch 2018 calendar, with spring sure to be in full swing for British Truck Racing's Easter family fun event on 1/2 April.

Topping the bill will be the opening British truck races of the season, with several rounds of the larger-than-life series across both days. With the five-tonne beasts pumping out over 1000 horsepower, often inducing powerslides out of the corners, and duels at up to 100mph heading into Paddock Hill bend, it's one of the most exciting spectacles of the year!

There will be even more brute force on display on Easter Monday raceday, which also hosts England's Strongest Disabled Man and Woman contests. Visitors can marvel as the contestants defy physics as they pull trucks and lift impossibly heavy objects, proving that disability is no barrier to achievement.

The event also includes a packed programme of support races, with breathtaking entertainment guaranteed from the Legends Cars Championship. Featuring pocket-sized replicas of 1930s US hotrods, the series is renowned for ultra-close racing, with starting positions decided by ballots and reverse-grids to spice up the action. There will be even more thrills from the Pickup Truck Racing Championship, which uses NASCAR-style silhouette cars to produce lots of slipstreaming and overtaking.

Away from the circuit there's a wealth of entertainment to keep all ages amused, much of which will be focussed on Easter Monday. Younger visitors will love the heated big top tent, which includes circus entertainers and skills, plus face painting. There's a funfair, adventure playground and Mini Monster Trucks designed for kids to drive around a special area course.

Adrenaline junkies will be heading to the Red Dragon Monster Truck arena, where they can ride on a full-size monster truck as it crushes all objects in its path. There are stunt shows from Team Maximum Lock, plus go-karting and the Downforce Racing Simulator.

The venue will be filled with show trucks throughout the weekend - book now to display your truck by clicking here. Admission is free to all under-13s, making this the ideal Easter day out for all of the family.

Tickets for British Truck Racing at Brands Hatch on 1/2 April are on sale from £20, or £13 for 13-15 year-olds, with free admission for under-13s. For more information, call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
