GT World Challenge returns to Brands Hatch in 2022

Monday, September 06 2021

Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS has announced its 2022 calendar, including confirmation that the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will continue to host a Sprint Cup double-header round on 30 April/1 May.

The Kent circuit will host the only British round of the season, with a range of GT3 racing cars contesting two one-hour races. Next year's event will see the meeting return to its traditional late spring date, following a rescheduled August fixture this year.

The 2021 event featured a victory for Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor in an Audi as they sealed this year's Sprint Cup title, whilst Maro Engel and Luca Stolz won the other race in a Mercedes-AMG.

Aside from a COVID-enforced hiatus in 2020, GT World Challenge has been ever-present on the Brands Hatch calendar since 2014. Since then, the event has grown into a flagship international event at the venue, with supercar displays off the circuit adding more for the fans to see and enjoy.
