Dan Cam the man in BTCC FP2 at Brands Hatch

Saturday, September 29 2018

Dan Cammish topped the charts in the second Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship free practice session of the weekend at Brands Hatch, with an effort of 1m31.000s on the Grand Prix circuit in his Halfords Yuasa Racing Honda Civic Type R.

It was a super-close, 40-minute session, with Cammish only just edging out the Subaru Levorg of reigning champion Ashley Sutton, who set the pace in first practice, and the Honda Civic Type R of Jack Goff - the top-three were separated by less than a tenth-of-a-second!

Of the championship contenders, Tom Ingram set the 10th fastest time in his Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Avensis, just ahead of Colin Turkington's Team BMW machine in 11th. Both men will have to qualify with heavy loads of success ballast this afternoon.

Championship outsider Tom Chilton set the 13th fastest time in his Ford Focus RS.

BTCC qualifying is due to take place at 15:20, amidst a busy afternoon of support races ahead of tomorrow's triple-header season finale.
