Brabham BT62 makes racing debut at Brands Hatch this weekend

Thursday, November 07 2019

Brabham's new hypercar challenger, the BT62, will make its racing debut at Brands Hatch this weekend (9/10 November) when the Britcar 'Into the Night' race returns to the Kent venue.

The Brabham name has an illustrious history at the circuit with Jack Brabham winning the British Grand Prix in 1966. Jack's son David will be behind the wheel this weekend partnered with GT and sports prototype racer Will Powell, who is also an early beneficiary of Brabham Automotive's Driver Development Programme.

This comes as part of a new partnership between Brabham Automotive and Goodyear, which will see the two organisations collaborate across racing and road car developments. The two brands have enjoyed previous success together with their winning partnership first blossoming in 1965, and resulted in 26 F1 Grand Prix victories. Brabham won the 1966 World Championship behind the wheel of a Brabham-Repco BT19 shod in Goodyear titles, and the achievement in winning the title in a car bearing his own names remains unparalleled.

The Brabham BT62 is an unrestricted track focused car limited to a production run of just 70 vehicles. The 700bhp V8 machine has already set numerous GT3 lap records across the globe ahead it's highly anticipated race debut at Brands Hatch.

The Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship tops this weekend's racing line-up with a one-hour contest on Saturday and a two-hour battle on Sunday - expect plenty of pit stops including driver changes and refueling. Plus, a busy support line-up will include Ginettas Juniors, Mini Se7ens, Mini Miglias and more.

The Britcar 'Into The Night' Races return to Brands Hatch this weekend (9/10 November) with racing into the darkness. Adult tickets are just £12 in advance and are available until midday Thursday, or £16 on the gate with free entry for children under 13. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
