Superkarts and Saloons at Cadwell Park on Easter Sunday

Monday, April 15 2019

The British Automobile Racing Club visits Cadwell Park this Sunday (20 April) bringing a mix of Saloon Car racing as well as British Superkarts and Classic 2CV racing.

The morning consists of Practice and Qualifying sessions with 9 races taking place in the afternoon. The first race comes from the 2CV Championship.

The Citroen 2CV is a motoring icon and despite being small in stature, this championship provides some thrilling wheel-to-wheel action with these cars set to bump, draft and dice round the twisty Lincolnshire circuit. There's no gimmicks here, with all drivers competing on a level playing field, meaning drivers can either showcase their talents or will be forced to dig deep for some excuses when things go wrong!

High-speed wheel-to-wheel racing and extraordinarily fast lap times will be a feature of this weekend's British Superkart races with two 15 minute races lined-up.

Many Formula 1 stars, including Ayrton Senna, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, learned their racecraft in karting. But whereas they started their careers in 100cc-engined single-gear karts on short circuits, the Superkart Grand Prix is for faster and fiercer machines, capable of lapping Cadwell Park nearly as quickly as Superbikes. Designed to race on full-length circuits, the Superkarts have high-revving engines driving through six-speed gearboxes and are wrapped in aerodynamic bodywork including wings to keep them on the ground at high speeds.

The Mighty Mini Championship add more excitement, with these small classics sure to provide plenty of entertainment as they take on the Lincolnshire circuit's fast tricky bends and the infamous Mountain section.

Completing the line-up will be the CNC Heads Championships sees a diverse range of cars compete from nimble lightweight hatchbacks to more powerful ex works machines.

The paddock will be open throughout the event, allowing spectators to get closer to the cars as they're prepared for battle and meet the teams and drivers.

Tickets for the British Superkarts and Saloons at Cadwell Park (21 April) are available online for £12 until midday on Wednesday, or on the gate for £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
