First F1 demos confirmed for Brands Hatch Festival Italia

Tuesday, February 28 2017

Brands Hatch will reverberate with the emotive sounds of screaming 1990s Formula One engines at Festival Italia on Sunday 13 August, with a series of special demonstration runs and displays from Italian Grand Prix machinery.

Italy's motor racing history goes hand in hand with that of Grand Prix racing, with the nation producing some of the sport's greatest manufacturers, including Ferrari, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo.

The Mediterranean nation has also produced some of the sport's most popular minnow teams, several of which have been confirmed for demonstrations at the event.

Confirmed F1 cars for Festival Italia 2017 (so far):

1989 Coloni C3
This machine was raced in the 1989 Formula One World Championship season by the small Coloni team by Roberto Moreno. This white, yellow, and black racer featured design input from renowned F1 designer and TV presenter Gary Anderson.

1989 Minardi M189
Arguably the most popular of Italy's 'small' F1 teams, Minardi established a long-held reputation as a manufacturer of good cars, on a relatively miniscule budget, and thrust a number of future race-winners into the F1 spotlight - Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber, for example. The Minardi M189 was raced in-period by Pierluigi Martini, who even managed to claim third on the grid for the 1989 Australian Grand Prix.

1991 Dallara F191
The Dallara F191 was raced in the 1991 Formula One World Championship by Emanuele Pirro and JJ Lehto, with the latter claiming a podium placing in the San Marino Grand Prix. You can enjoy this car demonstrating in the most iconic of iconic racing colours: Red.

These machines will join a plethora of other demo and display cars at the Kent circuit's second Festival Italia, including significant road cars, rally machines, and sports and GT machines. Plus, there will be Italian-themed races, food, trade stands, and much more.

Tickets to Festival Italia are available for £19 in advance with free entry for under-13s. Call 0843 453 9000 or click here to book now.
