Santa borrows Brands Hatch course car to deliver gifts

Wednesday, December 13 2017

Santa stopped by Brands Hatch yesterday to borrow one of our BMW course cars so he could deliver gifts donated by visitors to the nearby Bluewater shopping centre.

Heart radio runs its charity appeal every year at the Greenhithe shopping centre, asking shoppers to put a present under its huge Giving Tree. The gifts are distributed throughout Kent to disadvantaged children and last yesr more than 15,000 were donated.

Yesterday Santa took gifts including Ted Baker, Jack Wills and Lush toiletries, giant teddy bears and chocolate treats to Woodland House in Staplehurst, an NHS adolescent mental health unit. The gifts and soft toys were all placed under the Christmas tree and the young people dropped in to say hello to Santa and choose what they would like.

Claire Britcher, Senior PR Officer at Brands Hatch, said: "We were delighted to get involved with Heart's charity campaign. It was lovely to watch the young people's reactions when they came into the room and saw all the goodies that had been delivered. The huge teddy bears were definitely a big hit!"
