Haslam leads final MCE BSB practice at Brands Hatch

Saturday, October 15 2016

Leon Haslam fired in a time in the final free practice session to put himself ahead of the opposition as the #TeamGreen contender held the advantage into this afternoon's MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship Datatag Qualifying session.

Haslam was on the attack from his opening lap as he bids to close the 17 point deficit to Shane 'Shakey' Byrne in this afternoon's first race. The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider was able to hold the position right until the end, holding off Christian Iddon who leapt ahead of Jason O'Halloran in the closing stages.

Tommy Bridewell had another surge up the times to run fourth fastest for the Bennetts Suzuki team, narrowly ahead of championship leader Byrne in sixth place for Be Wiser Ducati. The four-time champion pushed James Ellison into seventh place with Billy McConnell, Luke Mossey and Dan Linfoot completing the top ten.
