SpeedFest and NASCAR partnership secured till 2022

Sunday, June 12 2016

American SpeedFest's partnership with the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) has been secured until at least 2022, with the signing of a new deal announced during SpeedFest IV at Brands Hatch this weekend.

This means that Europe's only NASCAR-endorsed race championship will continue to headline the biggest celebration of petrol-fuelled Americana on this side of the Atlantic until SpeedFest X.

The NWES machines put on a fine show for the fans at SpeedFest IV with four races across the weekend, featuring plenty of fender-fender to battles from a high quality grid which featured Freddie Hunt, son of 1976 F1 World Champion James, former single-seater ace Marc Goosens, and race-winner Anthony Kumpen, who sometimes races in the second tier NASCAR Xfinity series in the United States.

The NASCAR action complements an extensive selection of themed on and off track shows at SpeedFest each year, with car displays, stunt shows, appearances from star cars, and much more.

The event as a whole will continue to be run and organised by the in-house team at Brands Hatch, together with MotorSport Vision Racing's event team.

Jerome Galpin, President of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series commented: "In four years, the American SpeedFest in Brands Hatch featuring the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series has become one of the best and most entertaining racing events in Europe. We are very happy with this long term partnership with MSV. We share the same strong will to offer the fans the best possible experience with thrilling action on track and great animation all around to make Brands Hatch the 51st state of the USA during this weekend. So race fans, save the date, early June, for the next six years for your NASCAR Whelen Euro Series American Speedfest at Brands Hatch!"

Brands Hatch Motorsport Events Manager David Willey added: "I'm delighted to confirm that the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will remain as the headline championship at American SpeedFest until 2022. The NWES has put on a great show for us at every SpeedFest so far and it's great to continue our association with the world-famous NASCAR brand. This is an event that we all love working on at Brands Hatch and we already can't wait to put on an even bigger and better show at SpeedFest V in 2017!"
