Historic GP Cars set for Brands Hatch and Oulton Park in 2016

Friday, January 15 2016

The Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) will celebrate its 50th anniversary this season with a major historic race event on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit (1-3 July), whilst the Oulton Park Gold Cup will remain on its traditional summer bank holiday weekend (27-29 August). Both events will include action from the Historic Grand Prix Car Association (HGPCA) which is open to glorious F1 cars of the 1960s and earlier.

The HGPCA recreates a special era of innovation in motorsport, in which engineering geniuses such as Lotus head honcho Colin Chapman and star drivers like Jim Clark transformed the landscape of Grand Prix racing forever. A stunning selection of cars from iconic manufacturers such as Brabham and Cooper, in addition to Lotus, are expected to appear, respondent in period liveries, celebrating the decade in which Brands Hatch first played host to the British Grand Prix.

These wonderful machines will appear at Brands Hatch alongside the HSCC Historic Formula 2 International Series, and the HSCC Pre-'80 Endurance Series, with additional content still to be decided.

All three days of the Brands Hatch event will take place on the legendary Grand Prix circuit, a layout which has changed little since these cars first raced there in period, whilst Oulton Park's picturesque backdrop makes it equally suitable for classic motor racing.
