Brookes back on top as race one beckons at Brands Hatch

Sunday, July 19 2015

Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes topped the times in this morning's MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up session as the Australian aims for his first victory of the season at Brands Hatch this afternoon.

Brookes had missed out on pole position yesterday by just 0.001s and in a typically determined mood the Milwaukee Yamaha contender fired himself to the top of the times and held off the pack to lead the opposition into this afternoon's opening race.

The frantic 15 minute warm up session shook up the order again at Brands Hatch as James Ellison moved into second place in the closing minutes to push pole-sitter Shane 'Shakey' Byrne back to third on the PBM Kawasaki.

Richard Cooper continued his impressive performance at Brands Hatch by setting the fourth fastest time on the Anvil Hire TAG Kawasaki as he bids for a podium return at the Kent circuit, he held off Tommy Bridewell who had been at the top of the times earlier in the session.

Martin Jessopp pushed himself back into the top ten to hold sixth from Jack Kennedy on the Team WD-40 Kawasaki with MCE BSB rookie Danny Buchan in eighth at the Be Wiser Kawasaki team's home round. John Hopkins and Luke Mossey completed the top ten as the build up begins to the opening race this afternoon.
