GT race-winners Minshaw and Keen set to race Lamborghini in 2016

Wednesday, December 16 2015

British GT Championship race-winning pairing Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen will enter a Lamborghini Huracan for championship-winning squad Barwell Motorsport for the 2016 season, which gets underway at Brands Hatch on 16/17 April.

Having moved from a Trackspeed Porsche to Barwell's BMW Z4 last season, the pairing's distinctive Demon Tweaks livery will now be seen on the striking Lamborghini. Minshaw has driven the V10-powered car at Italy's Vallelunga circuit and will undertake a pre-season test programme with Keen in the new year.

"I'm really glad to be back with Barwell in one of their new Lamborghini Huracans," Minshaw said. "British GT is probably the best national championship in Europe, and this year Phil and I will be going all out to try and win the title."

Keen added: "It's great to be back on board with Barwell and to partner Jon again in British GT. The start of 2015 wasn't kind to us, so I'm hoping we can set off where we left of at the end of the season. I feel Jon is one of the best Am drivers on the grid and with Barwell behind us we will be aiming for the title in 2016!"

Barwell Motorsport Team Principal Mark Lemmer said: "I am delighted to welcome Jon and Phil back for 2016. If we can carry their late season form from this year into next season then they will certainly be strong title challengers. In his first test Jon took to the Huracan GT3 like a duck to water, and he was straight on the pace!"

Barwell, which finished runners-up in the 2015 Drivers' Championship, will reveal the drivers of their second Huracan in due course.

Tickets are available for 2016 British GT & BRDC F4 Championship rounds at Brands Hatch Indy on 16/17 April, Oulton Park on 28/30 May, and Snetterton on 6/7 August. Admission prices are frozen until Christmas and entry is free for under-13s. For more information click on the links.
