BRDC F4 headlines a weekend of MSVR action at Brands Hatch

Sunday, July 21 2013

The BRDC F4 Championship headlines this weekend's (27/28 July) action at Brands Hatch, and MGR's Jake Dalton leads the standings heading into the latest round.

The drivers have already raced at Brands Hatch this season, however this weekend's round will take place on the legendary 2.4 mile Grand Prix circuit and is a rare chance for drivers at this level to compete on this configuration.

With Brands Hatch being close to London, it is regarded as a home circuit by local residents such as Charlie Robertson, Raoul Hyman and Jack Barlow. Expect this trio to be in thick of the action! The points table is incredibly close and the racing has been superb at every event this season so expect more fireworks on track!

There will also be further single seater action in the F3 Cup. This will feature up to 20 cars, with Alice Powell leading Alex Craven by just eight points at the halfway stage of the season. Craven's Lanan racing team will also be fielding Chris Headlam, whose son Daniel will be competing in the F4 race.

The junior single seater theme continues with the Champion of Brands series. Recalling the golden days of Formula Ford's Kent-engined class, expect to see another packed field and close racing, with many of the drivers relishing the chance to compete on the Grand Prix circuit.

There will also be sportscar action on track this weekend, starting with the Speed Euro Series for prototypes. The two one hour mini-endurance races will provide a taste of Le Mans at Brands Hatch.

The MSA British Endurance Championship will end the weekend's action, with a 3 hour endurance race. The grid is expected to contain Ferraris, Aston Martins and Ginetta G50s. Also due to compete is the British GT Championship-leading Trackspeed Porsche team.

Tickets for the BRDC Formula 4 Championship at Brands Hatch on 27/28 July are available on the gate for £13, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
