Formula 1 action at Brands Hatch as Lotus festival continues

Sunday, August 25 2013

The Lotus Festival continues at Brands Hatch today (Sunday), with a busy programme of racing, Formula 1 demonstrations and attractions off the circuit too.

Yesterday saw plenty of racing, including a thrilling Lotus Cortina 50th Anniversary Race, with the top contenders wrestling the tail-happy cars in close proximity. Sean McInerney took the chequered flag from Andy Wolfe and journalist racer Richard Meaden, whilst Henry Mann, son of legendary touring car boss Alan, also diced with the winners. The second part will take place later today and should provide equally exciting action.

Classic Team Lotus will be running historic Lotus F1 cars, whilst the Lotus factory's Type 125 extreme trackday car is expected to take to the circuit for a demonstration.  There will also be a Lotus Cortina parade lap.

Racing action will also see the Lotus Cup UK, Lotus Cup Europe and Elise Trophy series take to the circuit, and there are a total of 12 competitive encounters from the cream of MotorSport Vision Racing's portfolio.

Off track, spectators can enjoy a cavalcade of Lotus cars from owners, trade stands, an aerobatic display and rally stage fun.

The action starts at 10am and a full timetable can be viewed by clicking here. Click here to download a map of the event.

Tickets for the Lotus Festival at Brands Hatch on 24/25 August are available on the gate for £22 with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
