Wednesday, May 23 2012

The Brands Hatch Mini Festival will echo to the sirens of the 60's with a beautifully restored Police Mini Cooper from the swinging sixties attending the event on Sunday 17 June.

A genuine ex-Liverpool City Police Area car, OKD 698F (www.policeminicooper.co.uk) has been restored over an eight-year period by its owner, Noel Durdant-Hollamby, back to its original specification. Be sure to check out this vehicle which is one of only seven of its kind in the world.

With original features such as working light and sirens, Pye Westminster Radio, and period Police clothing and accessories, the car has the 'x' factor and is a must see for the Mini enthusiast.

Since the completion of the restoration in 2008, the car has displayed at some of the most important classic car shows in the UK, and in front of an estimated 340,000 people in 2009 alone and now it will head to Brands Hatch for the UK's newest Mini Festival.

The car has also featured on BBC South East Today in 2009 when it was used to in the celebrations for the Mini's 50th birthday. To see a video of the car and Noel in action at Brands Hatch (see below).

Tickets for the Mini Festival are available in advance for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information, call 0843 453 9000 or visit www.brandshatch.co.uk .
