Mini Limo and John Rhodes 1965 Cooper to appear at Mini Festival

Wednesday, May 30 2012

A spectacular Mini limo and John Rhodes' 1965 classic Cooper race car are the latest special Minis to be making their way to the Brands Hatch Mini Festival on 16/17 June.

The Mini Limo was built and crafted for Lord March of Goodwood and the amazing vehicle is constructed from three classic Minis by CCK Historic. Powered by a 1.3 litre engine, the glamorous and extremely rare limousine can transport six people and is well worth a look at the Festival.

Veteran Mini racing enthusiasts will remember the feats of driver John Rhodes behind the wheel of a Mini and his 1965 race car replica will be rolling back the years at the Festival. Rhodes raced in several meetings in the British Touring Car Championship behind the wheel of his Mini Cooper S and enjoyed his fair share of success, including a fourth place finish at the Ilford Films Trophy at Brands Hatch in 1965.

Rhodes' replica also built by CCK Historic is identical to his race car and many of the parts used for this car came from John's original, including the seat, harness, steering wheel, switches and gauges, rev counter, interior trim, various fittings and even the original key.

Both the Mini Limo and the 1965 John Rhodes Mini Cooper S race car will feature in the Festival's special and iconic Mini parades throughout the weekend, so make sure you take a look.

Discounted tickets are available direct from the circuit by clicking here or by calling 0843 453 9000. Two-day admission is just £21 online, whilst children 12 and under are admitted free. Mini owners will be entitled to privileged parking inside the venue free of charge.
