Kiyo turns up the heat in warm up

Sunday, August 08 2010

HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari threw the gauntlet down to his rivals in this morning's warm up session by topping the timesheet ahead of the two MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship races at Brands Hatch later today.

Kiyonari waited until the final four minutes of the session to displace Michael Rutter from the top as the Ridersmotorcycles.com Ducati was pushed back to second, with Josh Brookes climbing to third in the final two minutes.

Tommy Hill had been running second in the early stages, but the Worx Crescent Suzuki rider ended the session fourth fastest, ahead of James Ellison on the fastest of the Swan Hondas.

Tom Sykes missed the final ten minutes of the session after suffering a technical problem with the Kawasaki World Superbike, whilst Ian Lowry was also outside the top ten.

Steve Brogan crashed his Jentin Racing-BMW Motorrad at Druids, so he was also ruled out of the closing stages.
