Brands Hatch set for celebration of all things British

Sunday, August 08 2010

Brands Hatch is preparing for a celebration of British motorsport this weekend (14/15 August) as the Dunlop Great & British Festival heads to Kent.

Despite the British theme, there will definitely be a French flavour to the event as the Radical UK & Club Cup prepares to star with their Le-Mans style racers. Colin Millar currently heads the series, just five points ahead of Steve Burgess with Rachel Davies third.

Young stars of the future will compete in the Autosport Young Guns series, which as the name suggests, is designed to nurture future talent.
Leopold Ringborn currently heads the standings 13 points ahead of Patryk Szczerbinski.

Sports saloons will also feature in the Sport Maxx Cup, with Adrian Churchill looking to extend his advantage further over Ryan Bensley in second place. Expect to see a range of touring car style machinery from Vauxhall, Renault and Seat.

Further action will be provided by three classes of the Caterham Graduate Championship and slipstreaming action should be almost guaranteed from these popular cars.

Graeme Smith currently heads the Classic Graduate class, ahead of Charles Fitzhugh. Jamie Waring leads the way in the Super Graduate, and Paul Turley tops the Mega Graduate class. The Mini Challenge completes the line-up this weekend.

Tickets for the Dunlop Great & British Festival at Brands Hatch on 14/15 August are available on the gate for £12 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
