Chris Levett snatches Class A pole position

Saturday, April 17 2010

The Birds Motorsport MAN TGS of Chris Levett has clinched Class A pole position for the Delphi British Truck Racing Association Championship at Brands Hatch today (Saturday).

After topping the times in this morning's warm up, Levett led the field for the entire 15 minute qualifying session. However, he was hotly pursued by nine times national truck racing champion Stuart Oliver, who put in a series of strong laps in his MAN TGS.

Oliver, though, was unable to surpass Levett's quickest time of 58.847s - missing out on pole position by a slender 0.012s.

Matt Summerfield will start third on the grid for tomorrow's first Class A contest at 11.40am after an entertaining qualifying battle with David Jenkins.

The pair ran nose-to-tail around the Indy circuit at several points, however Summerfield's MAN ERF proved to have greater pace than Jenkins' MAN TGA and the latter will line-up fifth for race one.

Richard Collett clinched fourth position after a quietly consistent qualifying, whilst Adam Atkins secured sixth in his Volvo White machine.

There will be four outings from the Delphi British Truck Racing Association Championship at Brands Hatch tomorrow (Sunday), starting with the first Class B race at 11.05am.
