750 Motor Club spring into action at Brands Hatch this weekend

Monday, April 16 2018

Brands Hatch welcomes the 750 Motor Club Car Championships this weekend (21/22 April) with an enthralling mix of saloon and sports car set to feature across two days of action on the Indy circuit.

Tin top action will come from the Stock Hatch category for hatchbacks available for purchase in the UK. Citroen Saxos and Peugeot 106s tend to be the vehicles of choice, with a BTCC-style success ballast system ensuring that competition remains close throughout the season. Retro hatchbacks will also feature with grids comprised of 1980s Ford Fiestas and Peugeot 205s.

There will also be plenty of sportscar frolics, with the 750 Formula Championship prototypes, Caterham-style Locost machines and Toyota MR2 Championship all on track.

Open-wheel competition will be provided by the Formula Vee category, for VW-powered wingless single seaters. These machines run with treaded tyres and low levels of downforce, allowing a close style of competition, similar to that seen in classic Formula Ford. Many of these cars are completely unique, having been built by the competitors specifically for this series.

There wil be racing from the unique Historic 750 series, primarily comprising Austin Seven Specials and later Reliant-engined Formula cars

Other highlights include the 5 Club MX-5 Cup is a series that features frenetic contests between drivers looking to make their way up the motorsport ladder in the original Mazda MX-5.

The paddock will be open, allowing spectators to meet the teams and drivers and take a closer look at the machines as they are prepared for battle.

Tickets for the 750 Motor Club Championships at Brands Hatch (21-22 April) are available online for £12 until midday on Wednesday or on the gate from £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
